Founder of Laboratory of Systems Ecology and Sustainability Science at Peking University, China. Prof. Chen has a wide spectrum of research interests including ecological health, climate change mitigation and adaption, environmental fluid dynamics, renewable energy and resources, systems ecological modelling, ecological economics, global and regional sustainability studies, systems input-output technique. With distinguished contributions as marked by around 300 publications in prestigious journals, Prof. Chen has won a series of awards and honors, including Elsevier Atlas Award, Thomson Reuters Highly Cited Researchers Award, Thomson Reuters China Citation Laureate. He served as editor, associate editor or advisory member for 50 international journals.

Professor Ji Wang has been a Qian jiang Chair Professor of Zhejiang Province at Ningbo University since 2002. He also served as Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Study, School of Mechanical Engineering and Mechanics, Ningbo University, from 2013 to 2019. Professor Ji Wang is the founding director of the Piezoelectric Device Laboratory, a designated Key Laboratory of the Municipality of Ningbo. Professor Ji Wang was employed at SaRonix, Menlo Park, CA, as a senior engineer from 2001 to 2002; NetFront Communications, Sunnyvale, CA, as senior engineer and manager from 1999 to 2001; Epson Palo Alto Laboratory, Palo Alto, CA, as Senior Member of Technical Staff from 1995 to 1999. Professor Ji Wang also held visiting positions at Chiba University, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and Argonne National Laboratory. He received his PhD and Master's degrees from Princeton University in 1996 and 1993 and a bachelor’s degree from Gansu University of Technology in 1983. Professor Wang has been working on acoustic waves, high-frequency vibrations of elastic and piezoelectric solids for resonator design and analysis, and nonlinear analysis of vibrations with several US and Chinese patents, about 240 journal papers, and frequent invited, keynote, and plenary presentations in major conferences around the world. He has been a board member, advisor, and consultant to many leading acoustic wave device industry companies. Professor Wang has been a member of many international conference committees including the IEEE UFFC Technical Program Committees of the Frequency Control and Ultrasonics Symposia, the IEEE MTT-S, and the IEC TC-49. He is also the founding chair of the Committee on Mechanics of Electronic and Magnetic Devices, CSTAM, and the SPAWDA. From 2015, Profess Wang was the editor-in-chief of Structural Longevity and a member of the editorial boards of several international journals.

Dr. Heah Cheng Yong earned his Ph.D. from Universiti Malaysia Perlis (UniMAP), where he is now an Associate Professor in the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and Technology. He is also a researcher at the Center of Excellence Geopolymer and Green Technology (CEGeoGTech). His research focuses on materials engineering, specifically geopolymers, construction materials, materials characterization, and processing. Recognized among the world’s top 2% scientists by Stanford University for his single-year citations in 2022 and 2024, he currently holds the position of Deputy Director at the Centre for Industrial and Governmental Collaboration (CIGC), UniMAP, Malaysia.

Professor Vladimir G. Chigrinov is Professor of Hong Kong University of Science and Technology since 1999. He is an Expert in Flat Panel Technology in Russia, recognized by the World Technology Evaluation Centre, 1994, and SID Fellow since 2008. He is an author of 6 books, 31 reviews and book chapters, about 333 journal papers, more than 718 Conference presentations, and 121 patents and patent applications including 50 US patents in the field of liquid crystals since 1974. He got Excellent Research Award of HKUST School of Engineering in 2012. He obtained Gold Medal and The Best Award in the Invention & Innovation Awards 2014 held at the Malaysia Technology Expo (MTE) 2014, which was hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on 20-22 Feb 2014. Prof. Jesuk Ko received his Ph.D. degree in Systems Engineering from Royal Melbourne University of Technology (RMIT) in Australia, and his M.Eng.Sc. degree in Industrial Engineering from Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH) in Korea, respectively. He is currently a Visiting Professor in the Department of Industrial Engineering at Universidad Mayor de San Andres (UMSA) in Bolivia. He is also an Adjunct Professor of the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST) in Tanzania. He was a Visiting Scholar in the Department of Engineering at the Australian National University (ANU) from 2008 to 2009. He served as a Full-time Lecturer, Graduate School of Engineering (GSE) at RMIT. He has been involved in Paper Review Committees as an Editorial Board Member of prestigious international journals such as AJHR, AJOMIS, AJOR, APMR, IJCT, IJHSE, IJPE, JHM and SCIREA Journal of Sociology. Mihaela Popescu was born in Craiova, Romania, in 1965. She received the Engineering degree and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Craiova, Romania, in 1988 and 2001, respectively. She also received a Certificate of Habilitation in Electrical Engineering in 2016. She is currently a Professor at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Craiova, Romania and Director of Doctoral School of Electrical and Energy Engineering. Her main field of interest includes power converters, adjustable-speed drives, active power filters, and power quality, with more than 250 journal and conference papers. She is a senior member of Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), a member of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, IEEE Industry Applications Society, a senior member of the Association of Computer Science and Information Technology and an academic member of the Electrical Engineering Research Unit in Athens Institute for Education and Research (ATINER).

Dr. Dimitrios Rakopoulos, born in 1980, obtained his Diploma (2002) and Ph.D. degree (2007) in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), Greece. Currently he is a Senior Researcher with the Chemical Process & Energy Resources Institute (CPERI) of Centre for Research & Technology Hellas (CERTH), Greece, and a Research Associate with the Internal Combustion Engines (ICE) Laboratory and the Laboratory of Steam Boilers & Thermal Plants (LSBTP) of the School of Mechanical Engineering of NTUA. In addition to his large research experience (participation in 38 Research Projects of 9.27 m€ total budget for his Entities; Principal Investigator in 11 of them with 2.57 m€ total budget for his Entities; Coordinator in one of them with 18 International partners and 9 m€ total budget), he has also wide industrial and managerial experience in non-academic environment, both in the Public sector (Public Power Corporation S.A., Ministry of Environment and Energy) and the Private sector (freelance Mechanical Engineer since 2002 in several energy projects on Wind Farms interconnection to the Grid, biogas exploitation for Cogeneration, hybrid PVs, etc.). His research interests include: Diesel engines, power plants, CHP, District Heating, RES technologies and novel energy systems, Smart Grids, Smart Cities and propulsion engines in marine applications. Atallah Ouai was born in Laghouat, Algeria. He received the engineering diploma from Laghouat University, Algeria, in 2003. He obtained his Magister degree and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, in 2012 and 2020 respectively from Laghouat University, Algeria. In 2013, he joined the Electrical Engineering Department of Laghouat University, Algeria, as an Assistant Professor. Since 2020, he has been an Associate Professor in the same department. In 2021, He received the Accreditation to supervise researches (HDR), from Laghouat University, Algeria. He is also a Team Member of "Control and Energy Management" of Electrical research group of LACoSERE Laboratory, Laghouat University, Algeria. His research interests include renewable energy systems control and management, fault tolerant diagnosis in power converters, power quality, integration and dynamic interaction with grid.
